Abstract

This paper examines the challenges and opportunities facing the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia and Nigeria, and provides evidencebased recommendations regarding areas for improvement. Using an exploratory research design, primary and secondary data were collected. Data analysis revealed that the greatest challenges facing MSMEs in both countries are inadequate financing, lack of market access, and lack of qualified personnel. Additionally, inadequate infrastructure such as unreliable power and poor access to transportation were cited as mjor impediments to business growth.
