Abstract

This paper attempts to study the contribution of MSME to the Indian economy pre and post covid with special reference to employment. It was found that the government has come up Udyam portal to help the registered units avail the benefits of government schemes and other business opportunities. Many units are yet to register in the portal which shows some sort of reluctance and apprehension on the part of the government and solved as early as possible. Without this, the plan of the government to make India self-reliant through Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India may not be very successful. This study is based on secondary data collected from various credible sources.
